Meet Sido. She is a girlfriend I never met but one who I owe my life to.
In 1979 Sido and her tragic plight inspired the director of the SF/SPCA to not only do everything he could to save her life but while he was at it, work to change the laws in California and the US. It was the birth of the no-kill movement.
Because of Richard Avanzino's work, I as a shelter dog got a second chance at life. And what a great life I have had for the past 5 years with my pack here in San Francisco.
Thank you Sido for being the original ambassador of rescue dogs everywhere! I hope to meet you one day in the future when I cross the rainbow bridge.
