My PL is very nice and every morning he cleans my eyes, if I have "goop" in them.  We have a routine now so that if he gets a tissue and says "okay let's clean your eye", I know to come running over, and sit up straight like a soldier while he gently wipes the gunk out.  Bonus: I get a treat after...shhh don't tell him but I don't need it.. I just like it.
