Vet Check: My Fungal Test Results

Vet pulled my hair! My second test that we were waiting for the results on are finally in! Got the call from my vet today. (This was the visit that required me to ride in the car for an hour each way! Grr).

Influence Positively Interview - Sparkle

Sparkle is an author, blogger, advice columnist and supermodel. She is also a cat. Her blog,www.sparklecat.com, was a 2010 Dogtime Media Pettie winner for "Best Cat Blog" and Cat Writers Association Muse Medallion winner.

Her latest book, Dear Sparkle: Cat-to-Cat Advice from the World's Foremost Feline Columnist, was a first-place winner in the 2010 USA Book Awards for the Animals/Pets: Novelty and Best Interior Design categories.

All this recognition has not changed her at all, considering that she was a diva to begin with. Sparkle lives in Los Angeles with two cats, two humans, and a dog that she does not particularly like.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A world where every cat has a home. And of course, that home would include high-quality, organic, grain-free food, dozens of cat toys, fresh catnip, at least one or two cat towers, a fancy cat scratcher in every room, and an assistant (i.e., a human) who scoops the litter box on an hourly basis.

If you could come back as a human, would you?

Nooooo! No-no-no-no-no-no. Nope. Uh-uh. You guys have it too tough.

Dog Tricks for Mondays

Hate Mondays too? This dog will use every trick she knows to keep her pack together. Yes I'm not above using my adorable puppy soft belly & sweet lovey face for their magnetic qualities..until I feel you pull away..then the nails extend & hook onto your sleeve or in this case, flesh. BOL

Dachsund Heaven: Why I love Wee Dogs

Dog heaven for me would be filled with cute little dogs who like to snuggle. We would play all day. They would let me win most of the time. We would then pile into a big bed and snuggle together or cuddle with out plush sheep, squirrels or crabs.

I love where I live because I get to meet many small dogs on my walks. However here are two dachshunds that I have not formally met but plan to! Pickle (boy) is turning 5 years old on July 15. He is a red piebald mini dachshund. Mya (girl) just turned 4 on Jan 10 and is a "long" haired black and brown, although her hair never really gets that long.

The following is a sweet email from their adorable owner, and fellow dog lover: 

I actually did not like dogs at all until Pickle came into my life. Since I did not grow up with dogs, I was a bit scared of them. He was a gift from my Mother In Law (lol just like a mother in law to give a dog to a non-dog person). I fell in love instantly. A few months later I found Mya online and she was calling my name through the computer monitor.

They both came from breeders in Northern California (not sure if they're still around). Like we discussed, I really have no particular preference when it comes to rescue or non-rescue, this just happens to be how I got my first two pups.

Pickle likes to burrow under covers, clothes piles and just about anything else. He also likes to sun bathe. He likes to sleep, a lot. His skin is suuuuper soft and he can make anyone melt with his charm. He is our Hollywood pup as when we were living in LA he appeared on the show I wrote for "yourLA" several times. He even had his own segment all about LA doggy lifestyle! LOL

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Oh, there are so many things. On a day-to-day level, I love spending time with my family and friends and being surrounded by animals. We often go to the dog park for fun. On a global level, I would love to see a world with respect for all creatures.
